On December 13th, VeriFish was proudly represented at the METROFOOD-EPI Open Event in Rome by Sara Seweryn from PMT PL – PREMOTEC Poland, one of our dedicated project partners.
The event, titled “Empowering Services to Tackle Agrifood Challenges,” brought together key stakeholders, policymakers, and innovators to discuss the role of research infrastructures in creating a more sustainable and competitive future for the agrifood sector.
For VeriFish, this was an important opportunity to connect our work on seafood sustainability indicators to the broader discussion on food systems and data accessibility. METROFOOD’s focus on promoting reliable, high-quality data to ensure food safety, traceability, and sustainability closely aligns with VeriFish’s mission to simplify seafood sustainability communication.
Sara Seweryn joined insightful conversations about how research infrastructures can support innovative solutions and create positive change. These conversations highlighted the importance of providing accessible, clear, and reliable tools—like the VeriFish Sustainability Indicator Framework—to empower stakeholders and consumers alike to make informed, responsible choices about seafood consumption.
We are proud to contribute to this critical dialogue and collaborate with like-minded initiatives like METROFOOD. Together, we can pave the way for sustainable food systems, ensuring transparency, trust, and healthier choices for future generations.
Stay tuned for more updates as VeriFish continues to grow and engage with global efforts for sustainability!
