VeriFish took a significant step forward in its mission to promote sustainable seafood practices by presenting the VeriFish Indicator Framework to a distinguished panel of stakeholders, including representatives from the European Commission, Mission Ocean, and our project partners at Mr. GoodFish 3.0, alongside other leading industry experts.
This presentation marks a pivotal milestone in the project’s journey, opening the door to valuable feedback and validation from key actors in the seafood sustainability landscape. The framework, designed to simplify and standardize communication about seafood sustainability, is undergoing a peer review process that will help ensure its relevance, accuracy, and usability for various stakeholders, including policymakers, industry professionals, and consumers.
Why This Matters:
The peer review process is crucial in shaping the future of sustainable seafood communication. By engaging with experts and stakeholders, VeriFish is:
- Ensuring Accuracy: Receiving input that strengthens the credibility and precision of sustainability indicators.
- Enhancing Usability: Aligning the framework with real-world needs to make it a practical tool for the seafood sector.
- Driving Transparency: Promoting trust by fostering an open dialogue about sustainability challenges and solutions.
Looking Ahead:
This presentation sets the stage for the framework’s next phase—further validation and implementation across the seafood industry. With ongoing collaboration and input from stakeholders, VeriFish is poised to become a powerful tool for driving responsible seafood choices and fostering a more sustainable future for our oceans.
We extend our sincere thanks to our project coordinator, partners, and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions and commitment to advancing seafood sustainability. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine and develop the VeriFish Indicator Framework.
